Baby Boomers Avoid Dentures

Early Detection, Newer Methods and Materials Preserve Natural Teeth

August 12, 2003 - Washington, DC -- As baby boomers age, they are losing their natural tooth structure as a result of daily wear and tear, genetically weak teeth or accidents. Despite good care, many baby boomers will need to restore tooth structure. In conjunction with National Smile Week this week (August 11-18), Dr. Stuart Ross is undertaking an educational campaign to discuss newer structural options to dentures and the factors that may allow baby boomers to avoid dentures altogether.

“ Preserving and replacing tooth structure using today’s advancements in dentistry such as minimally invasive diagnostics, newer adhesives and advanced therapeutic modalities help patients keep their natural teeth for life,” said Dr. Stuart Ross. “In the case of people who need to repair their teeth, we are finding that many patients are not aware that they have structural options to dentures. If patients aggressively manage preservation of tooth structure rather than delay treatment, a wider range of options is available,” he said.

Listed among Washingtonian Magazine’s “Top Dentists,” Dr. Ross is known for using the most advanced technology and procedures, and offering patients dental spa amenities. He employs the latest dental technologies to enhance patient comfort and convenience including CAD-CAM one-visit ceramic restorations (CEREC), intraoral cameras for viewing pre- and post- results, digital X-rays, imaging and lasers. Dr. Ross views comfort as a key element encouraging patient compliance. His practice offers patients hot hand towels, a massage chair, headphones along with a vast array of CD-music, and personal video movie glasses for viewing a film during long dental procedures.
