What is CEREC?CEREC is a computerized dental restorative system that allows the dentist to make a ceramic crown, veneer, or onlay in just one visit. Traditional restorative dentistry requires several visits by the patient, who must endure extensive drilling, the rubbery impression material in her mouth, a fragile temporary restoration, and a two-to-four week wait for the laboratory to fabricate the crown. The second visit can be complicated with fit and color inaccuracies, adding time to rectify these problems. The CEREC procedure only removes the contaminated material, preserving healthy tooth structure. The dentist has complete control over timing, fit and color, and your procedure is done in just one visit, in as little as an hour. Our CEREC System allows us to provide the highest quality aesthetic restoration in a single appointment. Ceramic filling material is milled under computer control. Dr. Ross carefully inserts it into the tooth using an adhesive bonding technique. The result: optimum material quality with natural appearance and tooth color. The benefits to the patient include:
In our practice, most patients react positively to the increased strength and preservation of fragile diminishing natural resources, avoidance of pain and inconvenience, and potentially higher cost both biologically and economically of non-CEREC treatment. The benefits to the dentist include:
