What Is Computerized Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic
dentistry is a familiar term. It means improvements made in the appearance
of teeth and it also means improvements in the health of the mouth because
proper form establishes proper function. When you look better, you feel
better.
Computerized dentistry is less familiar. It refers to the
use of technologically advanced dental equipment and materials: lasers,
intra oral cameras, digital x-rays, air abrasion and the like, all of
which can be handled in a one-stop single visit. It combines speed,
accuracy and preservation to improve patient comfort and health.
Computerized cosmetic dentistry is practiced by Stuart Ross
DMD of Washington DC. He is a former President of the Academy of Computerized
Dentistry and a senior trainer of other dentists in the use of high tech
equipment. Dr. Ross was an early adopter of computer-based
advances in modern dental techniques. In particular, he uses the Siemens-developed
CEREC System (SIRONA) in which high-strength ceramic material is milled
under precise computer control.
Result: Less drilling. Fewer, and shorter, visits to the dentist. Greater
comfort. The most natural appearance and tooth color. Long-lasting
results. Metal-free and healthy. A pleasant experience.
